Results are in from Round 2 at the Jubilee Course in St. Andrews.
How do I read this scorecard?
– The top table is the gross scores with total as normal. The handicaps are shown next to the players’ names. The table to the right of the top table has the Net score plus the total putts, number of 3 putts and number of holes scored 10+. Everyone pays a £1 in to the Penalty Pot for 3 putts and holes 10+.
– The Soothsayer game requires each player to predict what they are going to shoot before they start. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last places pay. The “Diff” is the difference between the gross score and the prediction. There is no advantage to being above or below the prediction.
– The big game of the day was HAZARDS. This is a handicap adjusted scoring system of getting into trouble. The better players should get into the less trouble. The points are awarded as follows: OB=1, water=1, bunker=1, 3putt=1, leave in bunker=2, hit from bunker to bunker = 2, 4putt=3, whiff=4. It is handicapped adjusted such that the 0-7 are added +6 additional points, 8-11 = +4points, 12-18=+2points, 19+=0points added.
– Finally, the Net scores are ranked 1 to 12, which will go towards an overall tour champion based on net rankings.
