UK Met Office Weather History

Some digging into the UK Met Office website shows the following…

For the weather station RAF Leuchars (across the River Eden from St. Andrews Links) here are the monthly averages for the years 1971-2000:


For the weather station Kinloss (south shore of Moray Firth nearest to Nairn Golf Club) here are the monthly averages for the years 1971-2000:

And here is a UK map showing the number of days with rain of more than 1mm during the month of October.  We will be in light/medium brown areas in northeast Scotland, which makes it 10 – 14 days of rain of more than 1mm.  Clearly, there is a lot more rain on the west coast than the east coast of Scotland.  Nevertheless, its going to be wet, if we are lucky, for about half the days on the trip.
